From January 28th to 30th, designer Flavia Amadeu attended the 9th Future Fabric Expo, at the Victoria House, in London. The event is considered to be a great showcase of sustainable materials aimed at the fashion and textile industry in Europe.
In addition to the exhibitors, the trade show carries a schedule of talks in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, addressing topics such as circular economy models, transparency and traceability with solutions based on Blockchain, AI technologies and 3D design, among others.
In this edition, the designer showed the novelties in Amazon rubber from her B2B company, AMADEU – Amazonian Materials & Design United. The new product catalog includes seven materials derived from Amazonian rubber, recycled rubbers, among other sustainable materials that the designer represents, such as Save the Forest, Ratoroi and Da Tribu.
It is worth mentioning that in British soil Flavia Amadeu not only sells her products, but also develops and signs other designs projects. For example, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood has already developed an exclusive rubber dress produced by the designer in partnership with forest communities. In partnership with actress Lily Cole, Amadeu developed a jewelry collection – that was sold out in a week. Another work by Flavia Amadeu was with British brand Bottletop, developing rubber bracelets for the brand.

Undertop also launches its first Basics line with pieces in basic colors and modeling that will forever be available in the brand’s store.
This movement to enhance female self-esteem meets the social responsibility project “Mulheres Reais” (Real Women) created by Juliana Mansur, a digital entrepreneurship course for low-income women from the NGO Nova Mulher (New Woman), which in 2020 will reach its third edition.

JCK, one of the most important publications in the haute jewelry market, included two Brazilian designers in its list of designers who defined the decade. According to the editors, Ana Khouri and Fernando Jorge have made important contributions in the past 10 years, creating memorable collections and gaining visibility on red carpets and/or social media.
Both are Fashion Label Brasil members, ABEST’s (Brazilian Fashion Designers Association) fashion export program in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments), which aims to promote Brazilian companies abroad.
In the opinion of Fernando Jorge, by supporting attendance in trade shows focused on target markets with appropriate product selection, the project plays an essential role in building his brand abroad. Regarding the inclusion of his name in JCK list, the designer highlights: “It is very good to be recognized for our work and it is also an incentive to continue working in a creative and authentic way, focusing on design and form”.
Ana Khouri, on the other hand, was remembered as the one who was featured in the 150th anniversary edition of the magazine as “representative of the decade from 2010 to 2020”. For JCK, the Brazilian designer has asymmetry and incompatibility in an innate and essential way in her aesthetics.

Nannacay’s Spring Summer 2020 collection, Aura, presents an out of body experience inspired by the Apu Vinicunca. Also, known as the Rainbow Mountain. With every new collection, comes a new concept. Whilst the Kodama collection explored the spirit held within trees, Aura goes further and explores the spirits that lie beyond. Spirits unique to the energy field that surround the mountain and are sacred to the Inca Empire. To be well-grounded, creative and nurturing are just some of the many spirits felt across the layered rainbow body.
Like Nannacay’s sisterhood, this mountain cannot function alone. In fact, it is the existence of the devas within the energy field who help the growth of life on this planet. These creatures are the ones who protect and preserve the land, the animals, the people and the traditions. They may be invisible, like the spirits within an aura, but complete the experience to our magical artisanal line.
