Luiza Perea dreamed of becoming a jeweler. In a way, it is exactly what she is, a designer who, since 2007, creates jewels for which craftsmanship is the basis of ancestral knowledge for design; raw material, leather and, above all, time.
She creates pieces that you can wear through her teachings – patience, persistence and awareness of cycles: today, tomorrow and after forever. In the timeless brand that carries her name and her choice for an existence based on uniqueness and beauty, she is against perishable aesthetics, with her two feet in the world. She has her sister by her side, the journalist Mirela, who is responsible for LP’s relationship with the world.
The flagship store is located in São Paulo – painted blue as the sea – in the vibrant Vila Madalena neighborhood next to art galleries, bookstores with open doors to the street, cafes with the fragrance of a grandmother’s house and other spaces that celebrate the culture of creation and of affection. At the store, women are welcomed on carpets designed to hold a queen steps and in an environment that embraces them, as it brings with it the memory of a childhood in the countryside, in a city called Barra Bonita. For this reason, the Perea sisters always have freshly baked pound cakes, fresh coffee, a vase of wild garden flowers and a cold sparkling wine to offer next to custom sofas and a library of poetry books, because inspiration is in every tiny corner of the place.
The collection themes range from the gardens of Burle Marx to the rivers of the Amazon and the dusk of Habana Vieja. In other words, they do not follow fashion. They create new pieces every three months, for the delight of shop windows in Brazil, Portugal, NY and England and the store shelves of their main location and e-commerce. Mary Janes, flats, boots, high heel sandals made of leather mixed with other materials- such as fabrics and lace- in marquetry techniques, braids and details that shows zeal and a certain “je ne sais quoi”: the insole is always golden. Luiza Perea is just like that; she combines ancient knowledge with design, the exclusivity of haute couture with affective aesthetic references, to have the handcraft vibe internationally, and at your feet.
